Our main topic will be focused on the use of Photoshop to create graphics for both emails and postcards.

We're moving forward with our group book/catalogue that has been in discussion for almost two years now. Full info will go out in an email next week. Our deadline for submissions of images and resumes is Memorial Day weekend.

We're also planning a book launch and fundraiser for a charitable organization (we're looking to find an appropriate org. so, if you have a choice please let us know immediately). We tossed out a few ideas and creation of the book launch will also come with a 6 min. slide session from each artist. Attending the meetings is the best way to provide input and get full details.

Annie Wharton
A return to Miami for Annie Wharton with new paintings, showing a rapidly-moving fantasy world. Tweaking the “pour” exemplified by Morris Louis by adding elaborate details, her mark-making de-rails traditional abstract painting and repositions it somewhere near Neverland. This show distills references to all of my interests and influences (fairies, muscle cars, California wasteland, amoebas, punk rock and electroni

Joe Abbati´s first solo exhibition is composed of a combination of
everyday objects, advanced audio and visual equipment, Nintendo wii
controllers, and computers. His interactive sculptures are aesthetically
utilitarian and the satisfaction one experiences from seeing and
interacting with them comes from the simple, attractive principles they
demonstrate. His interest in basic primitive concepts combined with his
technological savvy comes together in this minimal installation both
playfully and with poignant conceptual undertones.

JULIE DAVIDOW : Diagrams for a Seismic Bioscape (from Facebook events for Onajide)

Julie Davidow’s first one-person exhibition of new paintings with the gallery. The artist continues her recent exploration of man’s interference with the systems that govern our ecology, and the subsequent conflicts between the natural and the built environments.
Celluloid Drag: Some Spaces Between Film and Architecture
Curated by Terri C. Smith

March 14 - April 4, 2009
Dorsch Gallery, Miami, Florida

Miami, FL -- Celluloid Drag: Some Spaces Between Film and Architecture is an exhibition at Dorsch Gallery that features the work of 1960s conceptual artist Gordon Matta-Clark, painter Todd McDaniel and sculptor Ralph Provisero. In Celluloid Drag, the artists harness the superfluous aspects of or decontextualize materials from film and architecture. The title reflects the influence that tangential elements of film and architecture have on these artists. Drag refers to the presence of the filmstrip becoming evident when a projector malfunctions, causing the film to drag and the spaces between the frames to intermingle/interfere with image and light. The drag of environmental elements such as wind or light being slowed, stretched or split by physical
