TROVE presents The Sickly Trickle, a solo exhibition of works from Bristol based artist Zoe Williams. The Sickly Trickle presents a sculptural wall-less maze, acting as punctuation to The Rootstein Hopkins Award, which culminates in a solo show at Spike Island Art Space, Bristol, in May 2010.

Building an internalised and often fragmented dialogue between objects and materials Williams often fetishizes her dismembered installations, paintings and sculptures, whilst toying with and engineering a delicate balance between the sacred and the profane. The culmination of our XL Anniversary, and part of the 175th anniversary of Town Hall, we welcome back OAE for a period performance, perhaps the performance Elgar would have wanted in 1900.

"He had secret knowledge of the stars" was inscribed on the tomb of John Dunstable when he died on Christmas Eve 1453. His music was famed thoughout Europe and 'an english countenance' became a real accolade for the composers who tried to emulate his success.

This programme explores the work of Dunstable and his contemporary at the Burgunian court Guillaume Dufay and then proceeds to celebrate Dunstable's successors in what became the peculiarly beautiful and distinctive style of english music.
