Blurb: The Learning and Instructional Development Centre (LIDC) was established in 2001 to provide pedagogical, media, and technical support to the university community. Our original mandate included media production, audio-visual, and technical services historically provided by the Instructional Media Centre (IMC). In November, 2004, the eLearning Innovation Centre (eLINC), based at the Surrey campus, was amalgamated into the LIDC. In May, 2005, the Centre for Writing Intensive Learning (CWIL) also came under the LIDC umbrella. In August, 2005, eLINC became known as the Educational Support and Innovation (ESI) unit, further reflecting its part in the LIDC. With these changes, the LIDC's role has grown to encompass new curricular initiatives across the university.
