The third G20 summit is going to be in Pittsburgh, Pa., on September 24 and 25, 2009. The challenge before the movements for economic and social justice, as well as the antiwar movement, is that the next meeting of the powers that govern the world economy be met with a powerful mass mobilization demanding that jobs and social needs, and not war and greed, prevail--here in the U.S., and across the world.

This will be one of the few events where NN09 attendees can mingle with local Pittsburgh progressive activists, elected officials and supporters. Pittsburgh, PA-The Pittsburgh Visionary Arts Festival (VAF) will hold its first grand opening event on August 7, 8 and 9 of 2009. Thanks to a generous grant from the Sprout Fund and a kind sponsorship from the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, this full-production festival will bring more than fifty local artists and visionaries to the friendly outdoors setting of Schenley Plaza in Oakland.

From 12 to 9pm each day, artists will share their work and vision, perform demonstrations and provide activities for the public to enjoy a vibrant and unique experience of art.

The festival will display a wide range of artistic techniques, mediums and practices, including drawing and painting, mixed-media, sculpture, ceramics, photography, digital media, installation, experimental media, performance and sound art.
