Cowboy Day Join KUPL for Cowboy Day at Stub Stewart State Park and Vernonia State Trail. There will be treasure hunt for horse back riders, bikers, and hikers. Prizes, shows, skits, cowboy history, and roping lessons. Hoping to take everyone back to the good old days of the cowboy and teach every one just a little bit more about our history and the places we visit. Our goal is to preserve and enhance recreational and educational opportunities and to promote the use and appreciation of the cultural, historical, and natural resources of Stub Stewart and Banks/Vernonia rails to trails State parks. Relay For Life Vancouver Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society's signature activity. It offers everyone in a community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. American Diabetes Tour de Cure Tour de Cure is a cycling event, put on by the American Diabetes Association. There are multiple routes ranging from 10-100 miles. All riders begin and end at Hillsboro Stadium, a celebration area filled with activities and information about diabetes. Riders and volunteers encouraged. Minimum fund raising of $150 per rider.

Vernonia First Friday Vernonia's First Friday season begins! From May 1st through October 2nd, the first Friday every month will celebrate community in Vernonia with merchant specials and various community and education events. The opening events are held in Hawkins Park and in the Scout Cabin in the park. Live music with Strings on Fire. Other events include an old-fashioned cake walk, the OSU Master Gardeners' Info Table, May Baskets crafts table and Bring a Book/Take a Book box.
