LAMP System Administrator (Contractor)

This position is a contract position and may be performed remotely.

We are looking for an exceptional System Administrator to support our growing website and server infrastructure. The ideal candidate must work well remotely, be self-directed and self-driven, work efficiently, and have the ability to handle multiple responsibilities.

The current time commitment is between 5 and 10 hours per month.  However, as the company grows this may expand into a broader role.

Responsibilities:
- Configure system and network parameters.
- Write comprehensive documentation.
- Develop tools to monitor and maintain systems.
- Monitor system stability and performance.
- Deploy software upgrades.
- Architect and scale systems to meet demand.
- Ensure high availability of 30 Boxes website and services.

Requirements:
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Multiple years of Linux system administration experience desired, but candidates of all levels will be considered.
- Knowledge of webservers, firewalls/security, NIS/NFS, DNS, MTAs.
- Knowledge of MySQL, PHP 5.
- Knowledge of mail non-delivery issues.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
- Programming/scripting ability (bourne, bash, perl, python, C).
- Excellent verbal and written skills with outstanding customer service.

Salary will be on an hourly basis and will be commensurate with experience.
