30 Boxes a Google Victim? Valleywag SchmalleywagApril 5th, 2007 by Narendra |
According to Valleywag, we’ve been chilled by Google.
Hmmm…PC World Magazine doesn’t think so. Maybe they got us confused with some of the other 2006 calendar apps.
Feel free to let them know why 30B is here to stay and committed to crushing gcal.

commented at valleywag. they are such a hype-machine; it’s good to knock ‘em down a level or two from time to time.

pff.. please.. gcal is a baby compared with 30b (not by the cuteness but the maturity) ;)

gCal is a slave account to my 30b account. 30boxes > all
my gCal sidebar gadget really shows my 30boxes and that works well. would love a “Real” 30boxes sidebar gadget however.
30boxes works ok with my stikkit feeds but i wish my stikkit account was a slave to my 30b account a little more (show stikkies on the boxes? mmmmm dreams)
and make my gTalk a slave to my 30b account with add@30boxes.com contact (for adding/journaling)
better support for journaling an email with jpg , ics, msg, attachments when forwarding
i think plus keyword in youremailaddress+keyword@whatever.site confuses the hell out
create todo@30boxes.com, omg
let me sync (or import, i guess) my decade of Microsoft Outlook Journal entries!
a real 30boxes on my google personalized homepage!
windows mobile today screen plugin!
add via txt msg!
and twitter status updates a little easier (save password)
but, still, sofar, despite, all in all, here’s why 30b>gCal:
My wife can use it with her English Teacher mindset.
Secondly, it feeds the geek inside me with its depth of features.

Ok ok. I’ll switch to 30B anytime if only I can import my gcal http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=goodspeed1%40gmail.com
But I always get this error :
Sorry! http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/goodspeed1%40gmail.com/public/basic did not have info that we could understand. Back

I believe the winner between 30B and GCal will be the one that is the first to introduce an Outlook sync. I still primarily use Y! Cal because it offers that all important Outlook sync.

@Goodspeed xx: I had the same problem when I was trying to import my two calendars here. But then I thought that replacing the ‘http:’ for ‘webcal:’, so you should enter the address like this: webcal://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/goodspeed1%40gmail.com/public/basic and it will be added to your calendar here, all will be fine.
