Ongoing UI TweaksJanuary 17th, 2007 by Narendra |
We are been slipping in a lot of minor changes. For the record:
- if you have lots of Buddies from outside services (like Flickr) we show some and then a “Show All?” link
- the link to the Webtop is now under the View menu and we are considering a faded treatment in the footer
- if you color Buddies, Web Calendars, or Tags, we have adjusted the contrast to make the font color white over a certain threshold (for the technically inclined, if the sum of the RGB values is less than 620!) — bottom line: it looks pretty!
- we’ve added the easter egg tag -strike- to display events on your calendar with a line through them
- we’ve redone the buttons for View | Find | Share
- and we’ve redone the Share menu entirely to include quick access to the “Shared View” of your events.
That’s it. Give Share > Tell My Friends a try. It is time to start spreading the gospel of 30b.

30 Boxes!

Do you have any plans for implementing drag and drop reordering of calendar events?

Very cool stuff! I really like 30B and want to promote it. I know there are badges to display your calendar, but are their badges just for 30B in general?

The one thing that needs to be done before I can promote it, and I know you are working on it, are the complex repeats. I was surprised, even Windows Vista Calendar read my .ics properly from Google Calendar.
Complex repeats are a must for most college students.
Good job.

Complex repeats are coming and they are comprehensive and innovative in design.
Drag and drop — well…we might experiment some time in the next 6 months

If I contribute a little can we get drag-and-drop sooner? :)

If you talk about it, is it still technically an Easter Egg? :-p j/k

For all the folks who don’t read the blog ;-)

By the by, I could care less about drag and drop…
But the UI gets slicker every day. The Find, View, Share, buttons are hot!

any ETA on complex repeats? our company is thinking of moving to an online calendar and ditching outlook/exchange. complex repeats are one of the biggest reasons we can’t yet.

Complex repeats have been soft-launched. We have one more part to the wizard that we will be adding in the near future, but this should capture everything.
