30boxes + Upcoming.org and Exporting Events and Feeds

May 19th, 2006 by Narendra
Exporting to 30B from Upcoming.org

We are big fans of Upcoming.org which is a great way to find events in your area. From launch we have had tight rss integration with upcoming and they recently added an export to 30B on their site which makes it even easier to add upcoming events to your 30 Boxes calendar.

Anyone out there interested can make use of a simple url structure to allow visitors to your site to add events and feeds to 30 Boxes.

To add a single event you can use:

http: //30boxes.com/add.php?e=[urlencoded one box]

http: //30boxes.com/add.php?ics=[urlencoded link to an event in ics format]

To add feeds to Web Stuff and Web Calendars use:
http: //30boxes.com/add.php?f=[urlencoded feed url]

http: //30boxes.com/add.php?webcal=[urlencoded webcal url]
You can also dowload and use the following buttons or create your own.

Let us know if you start linking!

Nice. This is much better than subscribing to the Upcoming: My Events feed because you can edit the event (so there’s no need for duplicate events).

    Thanks 30b!

i’m actually using both… subscribing to My Events (since i just “watch” a lot of events, in case i can make it) and then adding specific events i know i plan to attend.

    very nice!
