There are a lot of great blogging platforms out there (blogger, TypePad) but we decided on WordPress because they guys who have supported this open source project (Matt, Andy, Alex, and many many others) have built a tremendous community and some great innovations including a fantastic plugin architecture. In fact, we wrote our own plugin to pull your 30b avatar icons so they appear in comments on the blog!

The latest enhancement are things called Widgets which are built on the a plugin done by Matt as part of his new company which also runs wordpress.com and the killer comment spam service akismet. Otto was kind enough (thanks!) to whip up a widget for 30 Boxes so anyone out there who wants something other than the html rss badge we offer can try that out.
