Marketing 30 BoxesMarch 13th, 2006 by Narendra |
I have a confession. We have no marketing budget.
Our energy and focus has been on the product and now the user (you!)
In the spirit of Web2.0 (aka the two-way Web), we want your help. Tell-a-friend forms are a bit tired (although we’ll probably employ them at some point), so here are some ways that you can help:
Beginner:
1) Tell the world about 30boxes on your blog or journal
2) Add buddies, add web stuff for them in advance, invite them to join 30b
Intermediate:
3) Post a link to your public buddy page from your blog or journal
4) Create an html badge of your calendar (or a subset by tag) and post that on your blog
5) Offer honest and insightful comments (praise is good too!) on blog posts about 30b. For example, we were recently on Techcrunch, so feel free to speak up on this post:
30 Boxes Ready To Take Out Online Calendar Space
Do not post anonymously, and link to your blog or to your 30b buddy page.
6) Bookmark 30boxes.com on del.icio.us
Advanced:
6) Try out our API and build something cool. Create a theme. Write a greasemonkey script.
7) Got too much time on your hands? You can actively monitor the 30boxes buzz on Google Blogsearch or Feedster and offer support or insight when appropriate.
8) Um, get a fake 30 Boxes tatoo and slap it on your forehead.
We appreciate everyone’s help. :-)

I love this! 30 boxes is cool and I have been looking for the right calendar for a while. But you are missing the crucial feature I must have!! (And probably a lot of others!) Why can’t buddies ADD events to my calendar? Sharing is nice, but collaboritive building is better!! This would allow small companies to use the app to schedule conferance rooms, families to build a “family calendar” etc. Pls, pls. pls. add this. If you build it they will come :-) [oh, and then I’ll tell the world about it because I’ll make collaboritve calendars with everyone I know :-)

Social marketing is right on target. It is great that you asked.

RSS feed of Backpack reminders
Let me set the stage a little bit: I was playing around with 30 Boxes and I had an idea for how to create Backpack reminders via e-mail or SMS. I threw that together without too much hassle and I was feeling pretty good about myself.
So, a little la…

I guess my trackback didn’t work. I started a Squidoo lens for 30boxes as well as updated my blog about some of the features.
