The API is hereFebruary 22nd, 2006 by Nick |
Part 1 has been released. There are functions related to virtually all the data we have:
- fetch public user info (no user authentication necessary, all the others require the user to give permission to your application)
- fetch private user info (including contact info and buddy lists)
- fetch all events for a user
- search a user’s events
- search a user’s events by tag
We’ll soon open up the ability to add, update, and delete events (which will enable the long-awaited Palm/Outlook/iCal sync apps), but we’d first like to see some use of the read-only API.

30 Boxes API
Just a small announcement. We have opened up the API for 30 Boxes. My hunch is that it will start slowly and gather a lot of momentum.
Very exciting.
Any and all developers, start creating!

Where is the feedback link to find out how to import M$ calendar? or even just to provide feedback. I didn’t see anywhere else to write other than as a reply.
[Narendra: We are hoping that a third party writes an importer soon. You can use our Forum for feedback!]

Will there be any support for an interface with Oracle Calendar?
[Narendra: you are the first to ask. with our open api, perhaps someone will address the issue.]

Zack:
Go to www.sourceforge.net/remotecalendars and get the outlook plugin.
It was not the easiest thing in the world to install, I used an older version of the plugin.
Restart Outlook2003 , you’ll see a “remote calendars” bar under your “file edit etc. bar”
(I can’t vouch for this on other outlook versions).
Go to Calendars. Make another calendar - I called mine ‘30 boxes’ for ease.
Then, go to your 30 boxes calendar page, click on the settings, go to “syndication”, copy the ‘icalendar link’ (right click in browser and save link).
Click on the Plus Sign Icon on the Remote calendars plugin bar.
Paste in the link you copied above, but remove the Webcal:// and replace with http:// .
Bob is your uncle.
Hope that helped.

I also would like to see a way to publish via iCal. That would be awesome.

P.S. After re-reading the initial post, I guess we’ll have to wait for “Part 2″ to get access to the add/update/delete events features that would be necessary for iCal syncing.

Are you guys going to be compiling all the 3rd-party apps someplace static, as you learn about them? Or do you have any other tips on where to watch for the stuff people are developing? I’m sure that I, and many other users, will eat up most everything peolpe put out, but I’m not sure where to be looking for it.
