Today’s heated discussion is around the ‘Add’ button at the top of the calendar. One camp (who shall remain nameless) thinks it is superfluous and crowds the UI. The other feels it is a vital and necessary button to explain what one is supposed to do in the text box. I think the larger question is how far will we go in our application to keep things simple (a guiding principle). We want users to have the most efficient, elegant and artful solution, but not be so sparse in our UI that people get confused and have no idea what’s going on. Ahh, a fine line really.

Others feel free to weigh in on this one. I believe we will launch with the Add for at least the first round and then see from there. Confused users are not happy users, and we aim for happy.
